We caught up with twin sisters and YouTube stars Megan and Liz
Twin sisters and artists Megan and Liz have grown up in the spotlight. They started with YouTube back in 2007 and have some amazing career highlights - like building a following of 1 million subscribers on their channel, being nominated for the Teen Choice Awards twice and having been interviewed by Oprah (!).
On their channel, the American duo and fraternal twin sisters share their ups (like when Liz recently got engaged and how she is planning her wedding - congrats!) and downs (like how their album got cancelled when the label it was on went out of business) with their fans. Their unique energy and talents are very inspiring and so we are super excited to bring you our interview with them.
In this interview you will learn about their similarities (and differences), who's the messiest and if they consider being twins a strength or not.
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU DO?
We’re Megan & Liz! We sing/write songs/and basically talk about all aspects of our lives on the internet.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
We got started on YouTube way back before YouTube was even a thing in 2007. We started doing covers and original songs, then eventually branched out to lifestyle content.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TWIN MOMENT?
Megan: “Mine would have to be playing CatchPhrase in any group setting. It’s almost like cheating when we’re on the same team because we can literally say one word and the other one will know what we’re talking about.”
Liz: “When we won the Macy’s iHeartRadio Contest, I swear we did some major twin magic to make that happen. It was legit twin powers I swear."
DO YOU SEE BEING A TWIN AS A STRENGTH OR WEAKNESS IN BUSINESS?
Definitely a strength! Some days when we write, Megan will be rocking the melodies when Liz is killing the lyrics or vice versa. It’s also nice because when we travel, we always have each other and we’re never lonely.
WHAT DO YOU THINK EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT BEING TWINS?
It’s the most special bond that still to this day is impossible for us to put into words. It’s literally unexplainable and magic.
HOW ARE YOU SIMILAR AND HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT?
We’re similar in our morals, beliefs, sense of humor, movies and music taste, but we differ in our personalities because Liz is the social butterfly and Megan is the content at home with a laptop and a movie type. Also, Megan is the cleaner/more organized one, and Liz just kinda “lives in the moment” as we like to say. (Aka, fine details are not her responsibility in the “twin marriage”).

We’re both really active, but Megan probably slightly more.

WHO IS THE MORE ADVENTUROUS TWIN?
Liz for the most part, but Megan has been known to randomly adventure out of the blue. When we’re together though, we’re both adventurous.
LASTLY, IS THERE AN EVIL TWIN?
Ehhh, don’t know if we’d say ‘evil,’ but Liz has definitely had to tell Megan to “be nice” on occasion.
